Message from the Pastor
In the 1920's, when our church was born, we gathered to be "the original" Community Church, with 17 different Christian communities represented, and with a patron, A. B. Miller, whose donation of land and money enabled us to begin. Our Mission style architecture and our traditional Pipe Organ reflect his vision for us in the beginning. In the 1950's, as racism, communism and other forms of intolerance challenged our community, the church affirmed three core values, stating that we were "tolerant, friendly, and practical." Today our church remains a community church, with a 50 year heritage of quality pre-school, a seven-day a week schedule, including Alcoholics Anonymous Groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and two sister churches, GMIM, serving the Indonesian Immigrant community and New Life Community Church with whom we partner to provide Sunday School and Child Care during our worship services, which meet at the same time and side by side (they meet in the Women's Club). I have had the privilege of being "settled pastor" for over two years and am enjoying the quality people who worship here and offer leadership for our church. Come, join us in worship on Sunday at 10 a.m.and send me an e-mail. Check out a few sermons on our website and find your way into a growing relationship with the God who is love and who calls us into loving service.
Grace and peace to you.
